Yes. A small percentage of each donation is used to cover administrative expenses.

KindCoins works for all transactions made on your linked account, whether that is online or at a physical location.

Simply link up the credit card, debit card, or checking account of your choice. KindCoins works with over 18,000 banks and credit unions.

Each month, your donations are transferred to a 501(c)(3) Donor Advised Special fund. Donations are then sent to the users’ selected ministries following a brief holding period, typically 15 days or less.

You can set a monthly limit on your donations. The minimum monthly limit is $5. To choose a monthly limit, go to KindCoin’s “Settings” page and select “Monthly Limit.” You can also pause your round-ups at any time.

Yes, if you are donating to a registered 501(c)(3) organization. If the organization you are donating to is not a registered 501(c)(3), then it will not be tax deductible. If you have questions about the status of the organization that you are contributing to, please reach out to them directly. You can view your receipts at any time on the KindCoin’s “Settings” page.

Very. KindCoins does not store your bank/credit account numbers, logins or passwords. Instead, we employ industry-leading providers Stripe and Plaid to protect your financial information. (Stripe manages transactions on your bank/credit accounts; Plaid calculates your round-ups.)

Certainly!  It is live and ready for churches.  Share the good news and help other churches do more ministry as well.

Yes.  That feature has recently gone live.

KindCoins is designed to augment the current giving in the church, not take the place of regular tithing.  It might be a way that those who are new to the faith begin their journey of giving but it is not meant to replace tithing.  Some churches have talked about not having the funds from KindCoins go to the general budget as another way of signaling that this is above and beyond normal giving.  How you want to structure that is up to you.

No.  There are no fees if there are no transactions.

Yes.  There is a setting in the app if they would like to do so.

Yes.  It was initially designed for churches and ministries and can serve almost all nonprofit organizations.

No.  The church will know who gave how much.  No other information about the transaction is shared with the church.

Yes!  The investment by the church is one of time, effort, and focus on signing people up. You will also want to thank them and celebrate what is accomplished through the new giving.

Yes, you currently can send text, video, and audio messages through the app.

Yes.  The app is a helpful component but not essential.

No, there are no plans to introduce a monthly fee on churches/ministries using the app.

Yes.  The co-founders are involved in their church and so are those who are helping churches experience the benefits of increased giving to fund more ministry.

Definitely!  We are happy to work with denominations and church associations to help all of their churches receive the benefits of KindCoins.

KindCoins and its partners (beneficiaries) do not sell or share information about KindCoins users.

Each time you make a purchase with your credit or debit card, the purchase amount is rounded up to the nearest dollar. Those extra cents are then donated to the church of your choice. For example, if you spend $2.50 on a coffee, $0.50 will be given to your church.

Anyone! Although we primarily work with Christian Churches. Anyone may give to these churches, regardless of their faith.

No. KindCoins is free for users and participating churches.

No. Though this feature is something we are working hard on. If you wish to link more than one debit/credit card or bank account, you must create an additional KindCoins account.

You can view gift amounts (monthly and total) on your KindCoins dashboard. You can also choose to receive automatic push notifications and/or emails regarding your contributions under KindCoin’s “Settings” page.

No. Though this feature may be added in the future, KindCoins users may only select one church at a time to receive their round-ups.

Yes. Users can select a new church at any time. From KindCoins’s mobile app or our online web-platform, simply click the “Churches” button and fill in your search requirements.

It can take up to a day for a new transaction to appear on your KindCoins dashboard, depending on your bank. Therefore, you may experience a delay between the time you make a purchase and the time it appears as a round up in KindCoins.

KindCoins virtually rounds your transactions, tracking your spare change behind the scenes. This means that your bank/credit accounts will show the ORIGINAL purchase amounts for each transaction, not the rounded amount. Round-up debits on your bank/credit statements will be listed with the description: “Kindcoins”
